Needing to summon a huge game after 2 days of rest, the Spurs former MVP Tim Duncan only scored 4 points before Gregg Popovich pulled his starters a few minutes into the 3rd quarter.  I guess the Spurs need to conserve Duncan’s minutes so he can be fresh for his 7 points in Game 4.

The Jazz aren’t getting out of the first round, but that’s no reason not to make the games interesting for us at home.  Carlos Boozer posted a 20-20 capped off by a huge left handed dunk over his new nemisis Pau Gasol.  Deron Williams had a poor offensive game but hit the last shot of the game with another nice cross over on Derek Fisher.  Kobe Bryant ended the game with a 35 footer that was way off.  Seeing as how there was 2.2 seconds to go, you’d think the Lakers would have gotten a little closer than 35 feet, but at least the right guy had the ball.

Why didn’t Vinny sub in Tyros Thomas for Brad Miller for crunch time in Game 2?  Thomas is more athletic, more mobile, and was shooting better when he was taken out.  The end result was Miller couldn’t get off a shot even when initially open and he had a couple of huge turnovers which may have cost the Bulls the game.  Thomas’ leaping ability would have also helped Noah on the defensive end.
